WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC COUNSELLING?
In Counselling, we work together to solve problems or areas in your life where you are stuck. You may be aware of the issue or problem in your life, but unsure on how to solve it.
Psychotherapy focuses on deeper, unconscious processes that you may not be aware of, that emerge in the here and now of our working relationship.
I believe that the key to successful counselling is through collaboration between the counsellor and the client, working in partnership together to help understand your thoughts and feelings better.
I work both on a short and long term basis with clients. We will agree a time frame that we will work to, within our assessment session.
WHAT IS TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS?
My main theoretical approach is based on Transactional Analysis which focuses on exploring a person's personality and how this has been formed by their childhood experiences.
Transactional Analysis is based on humanistic values which believe we all deserve to be authentic and fulfilled in our day to day lives.
I draw on other principles and theoretical approaches to help us in the counselling work.
WHO DO I WORK WITH?
I work with adults, either for individual sessions or couples relationship counselling.
I have supported clients through a wide range of issues including, but not limited to; anxiety, depression, abuse, anger management, bereavement, alcohol and drug issues, stress, unwanted thoughts and feelings, work issues, relationship difficulties, divorce and trauma.
Your issue might not be listed here or you may not know what your concern is and may just know you aren't feeling yourself.
Please get in touch and we can talk about how it is best that I help you.
